Impressionist painting of city tenement buildings by Julius Kahn (1893-1983). A few fortunate tenants would have rear windows that looked down into a courtyard.
Kahn was born in Germany and lived in Pennsylvania. Best known for Plein air landscapes, still lifes and city scenes. Signed at lower left “JK37”. Circa 1937.
