This rocker blotter was designed by Louis Comfort Tiffany (1848-1933) and manufactured by Tiffany Studios, New York (between 1900-1933). Tiffany produced 24 different desk-set designs with a typical set containing an inkwell, pen tray, paper rack, rocker blotter, and blotter ends. Some patterns contained more than 80 different pieces. They weren’t mass-produced and were sold separately so a buyer could pick and choose what they needed. A rocker blotter is used for absorbing excess ink left by fountain pens. A piece of blotting paper would wrap around the curved wood piece.
This rocker blotter is in the Venetian pattern which simulates elaborate tooled leather designs used by Venetian craftsmen in the sixteenth century. A band of deeply carved ermines is featured on each piece. The Renaissance period often featured ermine in artwork as a symbol of purity.
The rocker blotter has an elaborately ornate pattern on the know handle and top of the blotter. Both sides of the blotter feature a row of ermines set on a background of flowers. The finish is Dull Gold Bronze, one of three different gold finishes used in Venetian. Factory stamped TIFFANY STUDIOS NEW YORK 1646
In good condition with patina in the relief areas. A small spot of red (enamel?) can be seen on the right side of each ermine band.

These vintage 1960s girls' black leather ballet slippers appear to have never been worn and are in their original box. This would be great displayed in a young dancer's bedroom or in a ballet studio.
In very good vintage condition (never worn), slippers are slightly flat (the toe was stuffed for the photo). Box shows some signs of age,

An amazing glimpse into women's beauty care from 100 years ago. This manicure travel set contains 20 tools: two shoe horns, a container with a nail whitener tube, emery board, nail whitener pencil, 3 button hooks, 2 metal emery boards, nailbrush, scissors, tweezer, 2 small round containers, buffer, and a few other nail tools. The set would make a fantastic display on top of a dresser or vanity.
Some of the pieces are made of celluloid which was often referred to as ‘French Ivory’ (it's not genuine ivory from animal tusks). Two tools have a marbelized celluloid handle. The case has a faux brown leather exterior with a rose-colored fabric interior. It folds up into a small traveling case. The pieces are held in place by two adjustable fabric straps.
In good vintage condition for its age, the set may be missing a piece or two and a couple of pieces are not from the original set. The interior fabric shows some wear. One small container has a cracked top. Some minor stains on the case exterior. Some tools have some tarnish and/or spots.
