This purse is from the early 1910s Art Nouveau period and features a beautiful ornate floral embossed clasp. The purse is made of black fabric with an embroidered steel bead pattern and a fringed bottom. The chain has a metal ring that would have attached to a lady’s chatelaine, used for carrying keys and other useful household items
The patented push-button clasp opens to a tan suede interior with has a small pocket.
In overall good vintage condition without any tears or missing beads. The black steel cut beads and fringe are in fair condition, many of the steel beads show rust and the metal clasp and chain have patina/oxidation. The clasp and hinge work well.
Approximately 4-1/2” wide by 7-1/2” tall. The chain handle is 3-3/4” long. The fringe is 1-1/2” long. The clasp measures 5” wide by 3” tall
