A seriously-patterned vintage 1960s jersey stretch dress by Jane Justin, designer for Don Sophisticates. This sleeveless full-length dress is in a bold geometric pattern in black, white, gold, red, turquoise and brown. Zipper and eye-hook closures at back.
The wrap top has a long attached belt that can be tied in the front or back. The top has a wide collar, buttoned cuffs, and gathers at bust.
"Jane Justin, whose clothes were sold in Bonwit Teller, Saks Fifth Avenue, Bloomingdale's and Lord & Taylor, was especially interested in two areas of design: clothes to work in and clothes to wear dancing. Her aim was to make dresses that can do both because she believes that other young women are faced with the same problem she is two or three times a week—a date to go dancing and no time to go home and change"—NY Times Oct.1964
Very good vintage condition, the dress had been hemmed up 2”
