This 1920s vintage mesh wrist bag is in a delicate baby-fine metal mesh which is material-like to the touch. The Dresden enamel wristlet is painted with a lovely impressionist floral design. The bag was made by Whiting Davis (founded in 1892) known for designing the first mesh bag and is still in business today. The frame is embossed gold metal with the Whiting & Davis stamp inside. A delicate fringe of metal mesh embellishes the bottom.
In very good vintage condition with some tarnish/patina on the woven metal wrist strap
Size: Bag body is 5-1/2” high by 3” wide. The handle adds 6”, the fringe adds 1”, and the metal frame is 3” wide.
